The Brazil Pavilion

The Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade and APEX- the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency - chose SYMA as the General Contractor for the Brazil Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo 2010.

Brazil Pavilion trusted SYMA not only as a reliable partner to deliver a turnkey project - including services like interior design, construction, AV and IT engineering, interactive installations, security systems and maintenance - but also as a link between the Brazilian and Chinese cultures. Leveraging on SYMA's 20 years of experience in the Chinese market and international business know-how, SYMA served serving as an interface for the Brazil Pavilion parties with the Expo Bureau and the Chinese Government.

The main attraction of Brazil Pavilion was the creative technologies applied in its five different interactive installations. These interactive installations - all developed and implemented by SYMA - are both entertaining and educational including a bluetooth download spot with pictures and songs from Brazil, an outdoor football game controlled by mobile phones, an interactive puzzle forming Brazilian characters, and various touch screens for multiple users with contents about tourism at the 2014 World Cup host cities and Best Urban Practices wall with more interactive touch screens.

SYMA delivered the message "Pulsing Cities, feel the life of Brazilian cities" with a 2.000sqm pavilion, welcoming over 3 million visitors during the six months of the event. To make this happen, SYMA established a complete operations team with more than 100 staff: from cleaners, security guards and hostess to the venue management team. In addition to the pavilion operations, SYMA's services to run the Brazil Pavilion also included Public & Media Relations and event production – with many cultural activities and music performances each month.

The result exceeded the expectations of all the APEX management team who attested that "SYMA's knowledge about how to make things happen in China was absolutely essential for the project".
